Cómo mejorar el agarre en pádel: guía completa de grips y overgrips

How to improve your padel grip: complete guide to grips and overgrips

Why grip matters in padel

How you hold your racket is one of the most important factors for control and accuracy in padel. A worn or slippery grip can directly affect a player's performance.

That is why many players change their overgrips frequently or look for solutions that improve the feel of the handle.

Grip vs overgrip

The grip is the base layer that comes fitted on the racket.
The overgrip is an extra layer wrapped on top to improve grip and absorb sweat.

Most players use overgrips to keep a good feel on the handle throughout the match.

How to choose a good grip

When choosing a padel grip or overgrip, it is important to consider:

  • non-slip performance

  • durability

  • comfort in the hand

  • ease of installation

The undergrip: the layer you don't see

Underneath the overgrip there can be a third layer: the undergrip. It doesn't provide the grip, it provides the base: it adjusts the handle thickness, dampens part of the vibration from each shot and lets you hold the racket without squeezing too hard. We explain it in depth in padel undergrip: what it is and what it does.

Ours is the Helix Pro Invicta, a 1.2 mm silicone undergrip that goes on in a minute and lasts until you change racket.

Helix Pro Grip: a new way to improve your grip

The Helix Pro Grip is a grip system designed to offer greater durability and easy installation using a cord system.

Its material provides a non-slip feel that helps you keep control of your racket during play.
